A Bit About Peter

He was born and raised in Moncton. His father was from Burtt's Corner and mother was originally from Stanley.

He spent all his summers in Burtts Corner since the age of 10. Extra hands on the family farm were always welcomed—especially if you just had to feed & house them.

He graduated from New Brunswick Institute of Technology with a Civil Engineering Technology degree in 1977. He went to Calgary right after graduating where he worked, surveying pipelines for a short period and then moved into the construction industry for 2 1/2 yrs before getting an opportunity in the Northwest Territories working for a tug & barge company (NTCL) as a Marine Refueller during the summer, in the winter he worked for Imperial Oil.

Peter met his wife Debbie (from Victoria BC) in the NWT and after 6 yrs decided they wanted to raise a family and headed south in the fall of 1984.

They came back to Burtts Corner and purchased an old farm property on Lower Stoneridge Rd.

In the spring of 1985 construction of the house began, driveway upgraded, power line cleaned out (logs taken to be sawn). They moved into the house in Aug. '86 one month before their daughter was born.

Peter decided that he wanted to stay home and working as a marine refueler was not only physically demanding but that he could be away from home for long periods so went back to school

1988 Peter graduated from the New Brunswick Community College, Moncton Campus (formerly the Institute of Technology) with a Computer Engineering Technology degree. He worked with various companies starting with Computerland and finishing with Service New Brunswick.

Early in the 1990s Peter took a 6 months Woodlot Management course from the New Brunswick Forest Extension Service followed up 2 years later with the Logging Contractors course.

Peter retired as the senior technical analyst in Dec. 2017 from Service New Brunswick (formerly NB Geographic Corp.) after 25  years of service.

He now spends a lot of his free time managing the woodlot.
